Full Cycle of Taxes

| Jan 1 | All real and personal property is assessed for tax value |
| Mar 1 | Change of value notices are mailed to all owners of real property, right to appeal property value is within 30 days from mailing of notice |
| Mar 15 | Deadline for listing of all tangible personal property by owner or authorized agent |
| Apr 1 | Deadline to file Oil and Gas renditions, late filing penalties applied after this date |
| May 1 | Change of value notices are mailed to all personal property owners |
| May 15 | Personal property appeal period ends |
| Jun 1 | Appraiser certifies all real and personal property to County Clerk's Office |
| Jul 15 | County Clerk's Office certifies all real and personal values to state |
| Aug 25 | All taxing jurisdictions not exceeding RNR must submit annual budget to County Clerk's Office |
| Oct 1 | If taxing jurisdictions exceeded and held RNR hearing, those annual budgets must now be submitted to County Clerk's Office |
| Nov 1 | County Clerk's Office certifies taxes to be collected to County Treasurer's Office |
| Nov 1 - 15 | County Treasurer's Office mails tax statements to all property owners |
| Dec 20 | Full or first half property taxes are due without penalty |
| Feb 15 | Unpaid personal property tax warrants are turned over to County Sheriff's Office for prior year |
| May 10 | Second half of property taxes are due without penalty |
| Aug 1 | Unpaid real estate taxes are published in the newspaper |
| Aug 15 | Unpaid second half personal tax warrants are turned over to County Sheriff's Office |
| 1st Tues of Sep | Unpaid real estate tax properties are sold to the county |
| Oct 1 | Unpaid personal property tax warrants are published in the newspaper and filed as judgement liens in the County's District Court and stops are put on vehicle renewals for the same property owners until the tax is paid in full |
